Due to popular demand we have devised DOG UP – a fantastic advanced dog training course to offer your dog the opportunity for continuous learning, strengthen your bond with him and improve his obedience.

Dog Obedience Goals with Unique Pets = DOG UP

The aim of this course is to provide advanced training for you and your dog with a tiered Bronze, Silver and Gold higher standard of achievement. The course offers goals for continued learning, focuses on working with your dog to improve your bond and promotes responsible dog ownership.

What do we learn?

Bronze level has 10 instructions for your dog to learn, ranging from basic commands such as sit, down and stay, to more challenging directives such as leave, loose lead walking and holding a toy in the mouth.

Silver level builds on the Bronze, both in terms of difficulty of the 10 tasks as well as 1 new command to master: an emergency turn.

Gold level is more challenging still as the complexity of the commands and distractions increase, plus your dog must obey you from a distance.

How do we learn?

The course comprises 6 x 1 hour sessions over three months to allow you plenty of time to practice in between classes. You can choose class times on Friday and Sunday afternoons to suit your schedule and additional sessions can be booked for extra 121 tuition.

How are we assessed?

We will hold an assessment weekend at the end of the quarter to see how much you and your dog have learnt over the course. Each dog will be individually assessed during a 1 hour test with two judges marking the level of achievement. A full breakdown of the marking can be found here.

What does it cost?

The quarterly course costs £80 for the 6 x 1 hour sessions and a 1 hour assessment. Additional 1 hour advanced dog training classes can be booked for just £8.50 each as needed.

Promoting responsible dog ownership

As well as dog obedience, classes will also cover information and responsibilities around the following common issues:

  • What to do when you see a dog approaching on lead
  • What to do when you see cattle or livestock
  • Where to dispose of poo bags
  • How to contact the dog warden
  • Advice on personal protection
  • Pet first aid training

As responsible dog owners, you must always have the following items:

  • Poo bags
  • Microchip
  • ID tag on collar
