Unique Pets Grooming

We are pleased to announce that Unique Pets Grooming has expanded – our pampering parlour in Aylesbury boasts three groomers offering a range of services including a full groom, wash and blow dry, de-shed, hand strip or pedicure to keep your dog in tip-top condition.

Professional dog grooming

Our Unique Pets grooming service is undertaken by three fully trained specialists, Ellie MunroEmily Carey and Laura Martin.

Ellie joined Unique Pets when the second store first opened in Aylesbury, quickly progressing from customer service advisor to supervisor. When a vacancy came up in the grooming salon she jumped at the opportunity and spent a few months bathing and de-shedding dogs while shadowing Sarah. In May 2016 Ellie undertook extensive training with a Unique Friend, Val of Dogsbody Design, to achieve her Diploma in Dog Grooming.

Ellie has also taken the Pet First Aid course with our Unique Friend, Claire Martin of CK9 Training, and has completed an Aggressive Dog course with the IMDT. She is well-versed in dealing with all shapes and sizes of dogs and has a particular talent for coercing even the most stubborn of dogs into a bath!

Emi joined the company in August 2016 and immediately undertook extensive training with our Unique Friend, Val of Dogsbody Design, to achieve her Diploma in Dog Grooming.

Having relocated from Bournemouth and leaving behind a career in banking, Emi retrained as a groomer and is fast gaining experience in the salon. She enjoys working with dogs of all shapes and sizes, but particularly likes practising on her own little dog, Brucie.

Laura joined Unique Pets at the end of December 2016 to gain work experience and quickly proved herself to be a great asset, becoming a permanent member of the team at the start of 2017.

Laura started her career in the police force, but soon realised that she wanted to work with animals. After considering a move into becoming a dog handler for the force, she retrained as a groomer in September 16, completing her Level 3 City & Guilds  course at Groom Arts Academy in London Colney.

Ellie and Emi share a room and so often take two dogs from the same family toghether, while Laura has a separate room which is ideal for any dogs who are reactive.

Natural products

Wild wash shampooOur Unique Pets grooming salons are stocked with the Wild Wash range of shampoos and conditioners to provide natural skin and coat care for truly pampered pooches. Finishing with a Wild Wash fragrance means that your dog will stay looking and smelling gorgeous for even longer – and of course you can buy some of the same products in store to maintain the pretty perfume at home. Check out our guide to grooming brushes so you can get the right one for use at home in between appointments at Unique Pets Grooming.

Calming environment

Our adjoining ground-floor dog grooming rooms have created an accessible spa environment to keep even the most nervous hounds peaceful. We use a Pet Remedy plug-in, which is a natural de-stress and calming diffuser, to help your dog relax while he or she is being pampered. Any particularly anxious dogs are welcome to visit the grooming salons a few times, without treatment, to get used to the environment and owners are allowed to stay for the groom – although remember, like children, hounds are usually better behaved for someone else!
